MARKET LIVE: Indices off record high, Sensex up 200 pts; IT stocks gain – Business Standard

LIVE market updates: The Indian benchmarks climbed off the record highs logged in the earlier deals, but were still trading with gains in Friday’s late morning deals.

The S&P BSE was up 200 points, or 0.4 per cent, at 52,510 levels. The index hit a record high of 52,642 earlier in the day. The broader index, meanwhile, topped the 15,800-mark. PowerGrid (up 2%) was the top gainer, followed by Reliance Industries and ONGC trading 1 per cent, each.

The Nifty sectoral indices traded mixed, with Nifty IT and Nifty Metal indexes up over 1 per cent, each.

In the broader markets, the S&P BSE MidCap and SmallCap indices traded 0.6 per cent and 0.8 per cent higher, respectively.

Results today

A total of 57 companies, including BEML, BHEL, CG Power, Cochin Shipyard, DLF, and Sun TV are scheduled to announce their March quarter results today.
