Close to 40,000 final year student are set to appear for their final semester exams in June. Anticipating that the condition will continue to be grim even by June, the university is now exploring options to conduct the final semester exams online.
“Currently, we are studying the feasibility of conducting the final semester exams of engineering and pharmacy courses online. If the situation comes back to normal, wherein the number of Covid-19 cases reduce, we will conduct the exam in the conventional way. Otherwise, we are exploring other options,” Kamakshi Prasad, director of evaluation, JNTUH told TOI.
The university is getting proposals from various agencies that can enable them to conduct an online proctored examination wherein students can appear for the examination from their home.
“The discussions are on and we are exploring all the tenders being floated by various agencies. The policy decision needs to be approved by respective academic bodies such as the university senate before it is implemented,” said Prasad.
Meanwhile, the university has asked all affiliated and constituent colleges to continue classes for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses only through the online mode.
